WHERE BREWERS DREAM IN BEER

Open Gate Brewery Dublin is a brewery taproom situated just around the corner from the Storehouse. Here, the Guinness tradition of innovation continues harking back to Arthur Guinness’s experimentations with the London Porter which eventually led to him developing the legendary pint of the black stuff. The Guinness spirit of curiosity and creativity is alive at Open Gate Brewery and it’s there for the tasting.

Open Gate’s name is a nod to the taproom’s open approach to new brewing methods, flavours and types of beer. The “Open Gate” also signifies Guinness' invitation for the public to taste the innovations that often take place behind closed doors.

Beers you won’t find anywhere else

With free creative rein, the talented brewing team conjures up a signature selection of beers and pour their ideas into an ongoing rotation of taps designed to shift on a quarterly basis. Whether it’s recent culinary experiences, innovative brewing methods or simply a great pun to make use of - anything goes when it comes to inspiration. These discussions have led to the development of 400 unique recipes over the last 10 years including the popular “Hop House 13 Lager” which went global.

Pints to push your palate out

At Open Gate Brewery Dublin, you’ll discover beers that push the very limits of brewing. Highlights have included the delicious “Watermelon Spritzer”, featuring a fresh combination of watermelon wine and lager, and “Escar-gose”, a brew which uses real snails (yes, really!). Elsewhere, there’s creations that tip the hat to history, such as “Arthur’s Last Ale” or “The Golden Age of Guinness” which resurrects 18th century recipes to be enjoyed in the present day.

THE THREE-BARREL BREWERY

Open Gate Brewery Dublin stands on what once was “The Three-Barrel Brewery”, a dedicated Guinness learning and development quarter which opened its doors in the 1960s. Here, many brewers were trained over the years - its self-contained set-up providing the perfect environment to learn the brewing process from start to finish and a playground for brewers to bring their creations to life.

Stepping into Open Gate Brewery is the ultimate experience for beer-lovers. Pull up a seat to taste the selections and experience the boundary-breaking history guided by our on-site staff brimming with immersive stories behind the brews.
